Claytons Jewellers are pleased to welcome the newest member of our staff, Alex Clayton, to the business. Alex will be third generation of the Clayton family to enter the family business and can’t wait to get started.
Alex said ‘Jewellery is in my blood. My family have been trading in this industry since 1963 and I have had a passion for it for several years. Working around jewellery and prestige watches for a long period of time has allowed me to grow my knowledge and gain a number of well-established suppliers within the trade. Through these suppliers, I am able to source brands such as Rolex, Breitling, Audemars Piquet and many others from all over the country and from Europe and different types of jewellery all at amazing prices.
At the age of 18 I started studying in the Jewellery Quarter at the Birmingham School of Jewellery, in which I gained a HND in Jewellery and Silversmithing. Here, I developed my bench skills and was able to expand my knowledge of CAD and jewellery design. During my time in Birmingham, I have gained many contacts allowing me to offer bespoke services such as stone-setting, engraving, CAD design and gemstone sourcing.
Entering the business means I can bring both my contacts and the knowledge gained at Jewellery school into the business and hopefully help develop and grow the family business.’
